The Ford Mustang
After a few years of concept cars to test public perception, the Ford Mustang was launched in 1965. The introduction of the Ford Mustang also brought about the “pony car” class in American vehicles. These sports cars were affordable, featuring long hoods and short rear decks. Common competitors are the Camaro, Firebird, and Challenger. The first generation lasted from ‘65 through ‘73 and featured various options such as the Mustang convertible. Fast forward to 2015 and we come to the current, sixth generation Mustang. The newest generation features a widened body, larger passenger volume, and three engine options including the new 2.3 L EcoBoost 310 hp four-cylinder. New color options were also introduced.
